Baloise Summit

The Baloise Summit is coming closer – I am excited to meet you all in Basel on Tuesday, 17th October.

Intention of the Baloise Summit

We are currently implementing our Simply Safe strategy. Our environment has however changed significantly since we launched this strategic phase. As most of you are certainly aware of and as we also shared in our townhall livestream last week (see replay in DE, FR and NL), we have been sharpening our Season 2 strategy over the past few weeks. Also, we have adjusted respectively set under review two of our ambitions.

Our Summit is therefore a good moment to deepen our common understanding of our current strategic direction and tasks. Concretely, our intention for the Summit is …
… to bring you on board from a broad, Group-wide perspective on the WHY and WHAT of the ‘strategic adjustments’ needed,
… to jointly prepare for the required implementation in your respective units (HOW), and
… to look at how our environment will continue to change beyond 2025 and the impact this might have.

Expectations

It is up to us as Baloise Executive Leaders to implement our adjustments together and deliver the promised results. The Summit is a starting point for all of us to gain further clarity, but most importantly to prepare for the implementation in this phase - together with the people we lead. Succeeding all together.

Preparation

Unlike previous events, we deliberately keep the preparation work for this Summit to a strict minimum – the main thing we ask you is that you come with an open mind and plenty of energy for the days ahead, so that we can make this Baloise Summit our joint working meeting. For our opening, please be prepared to verbally share your key personal learning or success as mentioned above from Season 2 so far with your colleagues.

Let’s take the next step together. The GSB and I are very much looking forward to continuing our journey together.

Kind regards,

Health & Safety

Covid-19

As our Summit is approaching, another Covid-19 autumn wave is unfortunately starting to build up. To take your health and that of your peers seriously, we therefore kindly ask you to abstain from participating in the Summit if you do not feel healthy or experience any respiratory disease symptoms prior to the event.

On site, we have Rapid Antigen Tests available in case an immediate testing need arises. In case of doubt, we can also offer you FFP 2 masks on site to keep yourself and your colleagues safe.

Baloise Only concert with DANA - 18 October 2023

This year's edition of the Baloise Session starts on 21 October 2023. A few days before the start of the biggest music event in Basel, an artist from this year's edition will be making a guest appearance in our canteen.

We look forward to welcoming DANA to our staff restaurant!

Come by and listen to the charismatic singer with her pop songs that allow deep insights into her soul and sound like diary entries.

«Music was always there», says Dana Burkhard, the Swiss pop princess from Biel. «I’m told I started to singbefore I could speak». Even as a child she put together her «band» – now also grown-up musicians with whomshe still works. This shared past, coupled with the established trust and intimacy of friendship gave Dana theself-confidence to expose her innermost feelings in her songs. «My music is my diary in song» she says – andsometimes this thought is even a little scary to herself. But the authenticity that this generates lends Dana avocal power that has now piqued the curiosity of an international public. In her own country, however, Danahas advanced from an insider tip to a star newcomer and earned her her first plaudits: last year she was named«SRF3 Best Talent» and nominated for the «Swiss Music Award 2023».

The cooperation between Baloise and FC Basel 1893 has a long tradition and has existed for more than 30 years. It is a close partnership that has gone through various ups and downs together.

As a premium partner, Baloise is widely integrated into the FCB's communication and advertising activities (print, online, onsite). It is also the name giver of the Baloise Lounge, which can hold up to 800 people.

Switzerland's first multifunctional stadium - the St. Jakob Park - has been in Basel since March 2001.

The cooperative Stadion St. Jakob-Park, as the owner of the stadium, has written stadium history throughout Europe with the construction by the architects Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron.

St. Jakob Park is the home ground of FC Basel 1893 and a regular venue for international matches of the Swiss national football team and concerts.
